Festive events

Feel the merriment of the season throughout Clay County at a variety of holiday events. Experience the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting in Gladstone, and then go ice-skating at Linden Square. Pick up the perfect gift at the Mistletowne Market in North Kansas City. Or grab tickets to WinterFest at Worlds of Fun, an annual celebration featuring ornament decorating, spirited live shows and more. Celebrate Christmas in Excelsior Springs to mark the opening of the Lane of Lights as well as the Hall of Trees, where visitors can admire more than 30 Christmas trees, all decorated with sparkling lights and unique ornaments.

Also in Excelsior Springs, visitors can hop on a Holly Jolly Trolley Tour to admire holiday lights and weigh in on which decorations should win top honors. Continue the festivities at Hometown Holidays, illuminating Historic Downtown Liberty with a tree lighting ceremony and photos with Santa. Don’t miss another opportunity for a meet-and-greet with Mr. and Mrs. Claus at Smithville’s Candy Land Christmas.
